
The incubation time needed for Japanese quail eggs is 18 days. The temperature should be maintained at ( 99.5 degrees forced air )

( 101 degrees still air) and humidity of 50%, and 55%. Turn at least 3 times a day, If using an automatic turner always load point end down. During the final 3 days of incubation the temperature can be decreased one degree ( 100 degrees "still air" ) and the humidity increased to 55%.
Hatching Time
Button Quail - hatch in approximately 16 days.
Pharaoh or Coturnix Quail - hatch in approximately 18 days.
Bobwhite Quail - hatch in approximately 23 days.
(It is always wise to give eggs two extra days to hatch, as some types may be slower to develop.)
Pharaoh quail chicks are very small and fragile when they hatch. Because of their size, day old quail need a higher temperature. The proper temperature is 95 - 100 degrees. Pharaoh quail need at least 3 - 4 weeks of heat. The brooder needs to be off the floor. A box would be great for a brooder. Each week reduce 5 degrees. Until chicks are fully feathered.Feed your quail a high protein feed 28 - 30%. Make a trip to your
local feed store. Make sure that the feed is a fine mesh and not crumbles. If you cannot find any mesh feed, put your feed in a blender, or smash it with a rock or somthing. This will help "starve outs" Place a spoon full of sugar per quart of water ( For the fist 3 days ). It is important to provide clean water at all times. Water containers or troughs should be cleaned daily.
