Seramas are temperament (Very friendly, crave human interactions.) US flock owners continue working to stabilize this new breed. Unfrotunately the Serama is not recognized by the APA. In Malaysia, the Serama is a very common house pet. Seramas can live 8-10 years or longer.
Seramas hens lay small eggs, brood eggs, and are great mothers. Seramas roosters crow like any ordinary chicken, expcet they are only 1/5 the loudness compared to a normal chicken. Since their small size, they do require more shelter, and protction than regular chickens. The Serama come in different colors, from rare pure white, black, brown, splash, and everything in between. Seramas generally do not tolerate temperatures below 20 degrees well, with smaller sized adult and youngsters being more susceptible in a colder climate.
