My Breeding Projects                                    - Jan 1, 2010 -

I have made this page to develop new breeds of poultry, and to keep breeding heritage poultry as well. This year (2010) I'm going to get more evolved with genetics. I'm not going to make a 5 footed bird, or any thing like that . I will try to make new breeds by crossing different birds together.

Emu Project  (Project Emu)

I will place 3 hatching Emu Eggs in my Biology class. I will keep my fingers crossed for them to hatch. I will be taking pictures threw out the hatching process. This is my first time hatching emu eggs. Emu eggs need 50 days to hatch, I will be setting the eggs on 1/25/10, and they will hatch March.

Top Secret

The information below is only for people that enjoy poultry!!!                 No exceptions allowed!!!

Guin-Hen

My goal for 2010 is breeding a chickens with a guinea hen to get a hybrid cross called a Guin-Hen. The guineas can naturally mate with the chicken. By the end of the year, I will hopefully breed his hybrid offspring successfully. There is a couple of breeders that have breed the Guinea Hen and a Chicken successfully.

Golden Tuxedo

This is the second year I'm working on this breed. I have discovered 2 breeds in the making of the Golden Tuxedo (Red Coturnix, and a new breed) Currently I'm working on the Golden Tux.  I'm trying to replace the black on the black tuxedo with the color pattern of the Italian.
