Silkies bantams were developed in Asia, probably Japan.  (may re-work something like this) They have mostly fur rather than. Silkies are a very weird breed of chicken, but one of my favriotes. Unlike most chickens, this breed has down feathers covering its inter body. Slikies are very unique since they have feathered legs, 5 toes, black sking and walnut combs. Silkies are will known for hatching eggs, and making wonderful mothers. They are my favorite pets on the farm.  This is a very extraordinary breed!
