General Duck and Geese information

  Both ducks and geese are a very unique bird. Waterfowl are different than chickens, turkeys, peafowl, and most poultry. Most ducks and geese are domestic farm birds that cannot fly.  A male goose is called a gander, a male duck is called a drake. A female goose is called a goose, a feamale duck is called a hen.

   Ducks and geese lay eggs you can eat.  Both make great mothers, brooding from 1-20 chicks.  Geese and ducks can keep your lawn cut each day.Waterfowl need some kind of water resource to drink and play in. A kiddy pool will work will. They also require a shelter.

  Both ducks and geese eat, insects, worms, fruit, grains, snails, table scraps and many other foods. Both have a well developed gizzard (A gizzard is a small part of the stomach that grinds up food with tiny stones it has in there gizzard.
